For Cúla 4’s An Chuid is fearr den lá we set out to bring some of Cúla 4’s wonderful characters into the real word for the funnest OOH campaign we’ve shot in ages, and then bring the photographs to life using old animation techniques.

Collaborating with our friends in Core creative, we created a playful, colourful world where kids could step right into the action alongside some of Cúla 4’s best loved characters. Featuring Scú Scú, Pat an Madra, Blocuimhreacha and three brilliant young actors, we wanted these photographs to catch the attention of both youngsters and their parents, wherever they were seen. More than that, for the moving assets we  wanted to take our audience deeper into the colourful world of Cúla 4.

Each scene was shot in individual layers before being reassembled in layers in front of a virtual camera, almost like a digital multiplane animation. By separating our characters, foregrounds and backgrounds, we could move the virtual camera through the photography, giving each scene a real sense of depth and movement.

The result brings photography and animation together, creating a world where Cúla 4’s audience can feel right there alongside the characters they love.
